Former Trump elections lawyer Jenna Ellis decided she has had enough with the Republican Party, announcing her resignation from the GOP on the “Real America’s Voice” news network.
During an appearance on the show, Ellis attacked the party for not doing enough to stick up for former President Trump, taking shots at Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnel.
“Sure, the Republicans claim to be keeping Democrats in check, but only a handful of outsiders are actually speaking up,” she said. “The rest are compromising on everything. The infrastructure bill, for example. Or the second impeachment hoax, where [Senate GOP Leader Mitch] McConnell actually stood up and ranted against President Trump for his own political gain, not for the truth.”
She continued her attacks on various figures of the Republican National Committee, specifically calling Republican National Committee Chairwoman Rona McDaniel by name.
“What happened to the millions raised by the RNC in November and December of 2020 — the Trump team never saw a dime of that help,” she argued. “All of them, including [RNC Chair] Ronna McDaniel, should resign now.
Ellis began her conclusion of the segment with a strong ultimatum, saying she will no longer be a Republican until the party returns to its roots of conservatism.
“Until they do, as of today, I am resigning from the party. I am changing my voter registration and I am no longer a Republican until the party decides they want to be conservative again. Even if I stand alone for the truth, I will stand for the truth.”
She finished the bit suggesting that the modern Republican Party is corrupted from within, urging conservatives to stand up against political corruption in America broadly.
“A compromised corrupted majority is not a majority worth being a part of. If we genuinely want to create a more perfect union we have to stand for our principles against the corrupted machine of self-serving politicians in Washington.”
